The University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho will sponsor the Third International
Symposium on Intersections Without Traffic Signals to be held July 21-23 at the
DoubleTree Hotel Lloyd Center in downtown Portland, Oregon.
The symposium will kick off Monday, July 21, at 7:30 a.m. with registration and
continental breakfast. Session topics for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday include:
country reports (from the Netherlands, Germany, India, Sweden, U.S.A. Japan, Finland,
Brazil, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, and South Africa), access management, capacity
and delay computations, roundabouts, simulation models, safety, capacity and delay
computations, design and control decisions, and setting a new research agenda for
unsignalized intersections.
Following the symposium and running from July 23-26, the Transportation Research
Board Highway Capacity Committee will hold their summer meeting. The meeting will
offer guided technical tours of Portland's Light Rail System and Neighborhood Traffic
Management and Traffic Calming Program.
