The Urban Street Symposium will be held at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, Texas on
June 28-30, 1999. The theme for this year’s symposium is “Uptown, Downtown, or
Small Town: Designing Urban Streets That Work.” Some of the topics included in the
program are access management, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), geometric
design, neotraditional design, and traffic calming.

The symposium is sponsored by the Transportation Research Board, the American
Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, the American Society of

Engineers, and the National Association of County Engineers.
